Belon Farm

The Ferme Belon: a training camp for the Resistance during WW2

During WW2, a group of young Resistance fighters turned this abandoned 16th-century farm into a training camp. "Having been forced to leave Barrême in order to avoid capture by the Germans, they sought refuge there. For a month, they instructed new recruits in armed struggle, guerilla tactics, leadership, etc. (…) Early on the morning of 14 February 1944, a German detachment arrived at the farm, while another (…) operated a pincer movement.
